We are seeking Expressions of Interest from Registrars Medical Education for Fixed Term Full Time opportunities for 6 months commencing on 4th August 2025, with the possibility of extension(s).

1.0  FTE Medical Education Registrar position remains available for the second half of 2025 (or 2 x 0.5 FTE positions)

Position Profile:

The Medical Education Registrar works with the Bunbury Hospital and WACHS Central Medical Education Units to develop, implement and evaluate innovative education and training models, programs and strategies.  The Registrar also provides support, advice and advocacy for junior medical staff. Expressions of Interest are invited from current medical staff including any who may have been unsuccessful in any recent central application.

Bunbury Hospital employs 15 WACHS Interns, with another 6 interns rotating each term from Royal Perth Hospital; we also employ 64 Resident Medical Officers with 16 of these being IMGs on the Workplace Bases Assessment Program. There are a number of training pathways in development with a view to increasing the “Grow Your Own” seamless medical careers within WACHS.

Essential Criteria

1. General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

2. Must have at least two years post-graduate clinical experience.

3. Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.

4. Excellent time management and organizational skills.

5. Self-motivated and able to initiate and develop projects and improvements.

6. Knowledge of junior doctor issues in Western Australia. 

7. Eligible for/or in possession of a current C or C-A class driver’s license.

Desirable Criteria

1. Relevant training or experience in education.

2. Clinical experience in a rural setting.

3. Current knowledge and commitment to Equal Opportunity in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
