We are seeking Expressions of Interest from Emergency Medicine Service Registrars for Fixed Term Full Time opportunities for 6 and/or 12 months with the possibility of extension(s) commencing in August 2025 or ASAP.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your emergency clinical skills and grow into senior roles that will be expected of you once you are an independent clinician. This will include, but not be limited to, the opportunity to participate in departmental education sessions, participation in audits, clinical governance and quality improvement projects.
Applicants to this position in Broome may be required to provide services on a “service needs basis” at our wider Kimberley regional hospital sites being Derby, Kununurra, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek and Wyndham. This will provide an excellent opportunity for Service Registrars to provide care and gain excellent clinical experience.
The successful applicants will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to review the medical needs of patients within Broome Health Campus and provide teaching and support, as appropriate to Doctors in Training (DiT’s), Nursing, Allied Health and other multidisciplinary team members across the service and will be expected to share after-hours, evening and night shift with their peers on a pro-rata basis.
ABOUT THE REGION
Broome Health Campus serves one of the States leading tourist destinations. The 60-bed hospital provides health care to a resident population of 17,000 which expands to 55,000 during the tourist season. Broome Health Campus is the regional resource centre for the Kimberley with medical staff providing health care services to hospitals, community and remote sites across the region.
The Kimberley is the most northern and tropical region of WA. Geographically diverse – the Kimberley boasts pristine white beaches, rugged and spectacular ranges and gorges, palm lined chasms, secluded waterholes, tidal mudflats and some of the largest and most beautiful rivers and waterways in the world. TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
You should have at least two (2) years experience as a Registrar in Emergency Medicine in Australia.
