Salary: MP Year 1-7 $115,028 - $157,053 p.a.
Please note this is for the 2025 Registrar Intake and the above salary rates are effective July 2023.
This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 6 or 12 months with the possibility of extension(s).
Part-Time employment (minimum 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE)) may be possible dependent on operational requirements and is primarily through job share arrangements. Applicants are encouraged to discuss any preference for part-time employment in advance.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2024.
Appointments for this position will not commence until 2025.
Position Profile:
Positions are available as part of the PathWest Microbiology training program. Medical Practitioners committed to entering or continuing in a training program in Microbiology and who have appropriate qualifications registrable in WA are invited to apply to the 2025 training program.
PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA is the sole public pathology provider in the state of Western Australia and offers a comprehensive, best practice Microbiology service to WA tertiary hospitals, private practices and regional areas throughout the state. All positions in the program are accredited for training to attain the Fellowship of the RCPA and for trainees seeking combined fellowships with the RACP. Infectious Diseases trainees who require 6 months of Microbiology training to satisfy requirements of the RACP are also encouraged to apply.
Positions are located at the major teaching hospitals in metropolitan Perth and are part of a rotating inter-hospital training system. Successful applicants will be allocated to a 6 or 12 month appointment at one of the PathWest laboratories co-located with tertiary hospitals in Perth i.e. QEII Medical Centre,or Fiona Stanley Hospital.
