Registrar - Trainee/Service - Rehabilitation Medicine

Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments will be available for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/10/2024.


Position Profile: Successful applicants will be considered for various positions across the Metropolitan Health Service participating in the Inter-Hospital Rotating Scheme (IHRS) including: Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH); Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) and Osborne Park Hospital (OPH). As part of rotation arrangements applicants may also be allocated to primary health sites.

About us:
Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical service including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

Osborne Park Hospital (OPH) provides specialist health care services for the community in the north metropolitan area and is located in Stirling, 14 kilometres from the Perth central business district. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist health care services for the north metropolitan suburbs. The services at OPH are provided by three main specialties consisting of Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services and Younger Adult Rehabilitation, Surgical Services and Women’s & Newborn Services. Each of these specialties has a dedicated Allied Health Services Team.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

**Service Registrars Only: To be assessed for a service role you are not required to answer the additional essential criteria marked “Trainee Registrars Only” (Essential Selection Criteria 2 & 3).

Referees: Provide 2 direct and current (i.e. last 12 months) clinical referees to be listed (for current trainees, to be Rehabilitation Medicine Consultants)
