Sessional Rate: $758.14 - $962.82 per session**

**(Sessional rate is shown as a base sessional rate between $615.84 - $799.41, 11.5% employer contributed superannuation and professional development allowance $64.11 per session).

 

This position is based in the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) located in 625-639 Wellington Street, Perth 6000.

 

This is a recruitment pool to fill Fixed-Term, Various (Sessional, Part-time or Full-Time) appointments, with the possibility of extension(s)*.

*Present Funding is to 31/12/2026 with the position subject to extension(s) and/or permanency if ongoing funding is secured.

 

There is currently 1x Full-Time position available to be filled in the team through this recruitment pool. 

 

POSITION PROFILE

The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) are seeking experienced Specialists in Emergency Medicine to provide comprehensive clinical management of emergency medicine patients presented to the WAVED. You will provide Emergency Medicine assessment, advice and management via video consultation, both in the community and Residential Aged Care facilities, and in collaboration St John Ambulance and other community facing agencies. 

 

To be successful applicant(s) to this recruitment pool, you must have current:

  • Registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia.

 

ABOUT THE WA VIRTUAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) is an initiative managed by the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) in 2023, providing opportunity to give patients the option of being seen virtually in the comfort of their own home when safe and appropriate to do so, rather than waiting in an emergency department (ED). The overarching aim of WAVED is to improve access to care and provide treatment options that achieve equally good or better patient outcomes without the need to physically visit and Emergency Department. WAVED partners with multiple agencies to help deliver the care the patient requires.
