About the Role:
WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking experienced specialist Emergency Medicine Consultants registered with the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) to contribute to the provision of high-quality healthcare across our regional hospitals. Our Emergency Medicine departments handle a broad spectrum of cases, ranging from high-acuity scenarios, trauma presentations, and interhospital transfers from smaller inter-regional hospitals. The FACEM will provide specialist emergency medical care and ensures smooth patient flow for patients presenting to the Emergency Department. During clinical shifts, the FACEM provides clinical leadership to ensure optimal outcomes to patients through working with the multidisciplinary team including rural generalists.
The FACEM supervises the work of Registrars and Junior Medical Officers (JMO’s) and is involved in teaching both JMO’s and medical students.

Remuneration:
The advertised salary range is based on classifications under the WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2022. Classification and level are determined by factors including qualifications, experience, type of medical registration, location, and specialist assessment outcomes from the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM).
*Medical Practitioners on casual contracts may be entitled to professional development allowance providing you don’t hold a contract with another WA Health entity.
