Inside the Intern experience
"My first few weeks as an intern in one of the busiest surgical departments have been a whirlwind of triumphs and challenges.
I feel fortunate to be surrounded by incredible professionals during this journey, from knowledgeable pharmacists who supported me during my (pitiful) first attempt at printing an authority script, to colleagues who surprise me with thoughtful gestures like leaving a coffee on my desk during chaotic shifts.
When I reflect on the past few weeks, I’m amazed at how much myself and my intern colleagues have learned in such a short time while navigating both the challenges and rewards of this year.
I’ve learned that to become the health professional I aspire to be, I must constantly push beyond my comfort zone because it is when we are most uncomfortable that we make tangible progress.
The journey so far has been more rewarding than I could have imagined, and I’m eager to continue evolving my skillset."
