The General Practice Community Residency Program (GP-CRP) offers Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) an opportunity to experience healthcare from the community perspective, following patients beyond episodic hospital care and gaining insight into the management of acute, chronic and preventive health needs. This term provides exposure to the breadth of presentations seen in general practice and fosters a greater understanding of how primary care influences patient outcomes, health system utilisation and long-term wellbeing.

The Metropolitan Silverchain Community Residency Program (CRP) – Peel pilot offers Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) a unique opportunity to undertake a term-long community placement based in the Peel region, delivering care across a broad outer metropolitan catchment. This placement provides enhanced exposure to primary care and palliative care in a setting that reflects both metropolitan and regional healthcare needs, within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. This is a distinctive opportunity to experience community-based care in an outer metropolitan setting and gain insight into the interface between hospital and community services prior to making a vocational decision.

Lead the multidisciplinary team to develop and provide a new, subacute geriatric medicine, model of care to patients across the South Metropolitan catchment

We are seeking to appoint suitably experienced and enthusiastic individuals to the position of Intensive Care Senior Registrar. This position will provide a high quality, patient centred care to intensive care inpatients and outpatients, under the supervision of the Head of Department or Duty Consultant, working within their ability and according to the hospitals mission and core values. Progression of clinical responsibility to the level of a junior Consultant, with accompanying administrative roles is expected depending on satisfactory progress. Reviews and provides advice for patients referred from the Emergency Department, hospital wards and referring hospitals. Participation in ICU teaching and education programs, quality improvement activities and handover processes are also expected. Works with the hospital(s) and health service to achieve National, State, and South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) performance standards and targets and National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards.
