Resident Medical Officers in WA Health build on their internship experience by delivering supervised, patient‑centred care and working as integral members of multidisciplinary teams across diverse clinical settings. RMOs develop core skills, explore specialty interests, and prepare for registrar training while contributing to teaching and quality improvement.

RMOs have the opportunity to:
🩺 Consolidate clinical skills through supervised practice in specialties such as emergency medicine, general medicine, surgery, paediatrics, psychiatry, and rural health.
⚕️ Provide supervised care within multidisciplinary teams - coordinating investigations, performing procedures within scope, and communicating daily management plans with senior medical staff.
📈 Explore career interests and prepare for specialty training through rotations that align with your long-term goals while gaining relevant experience and fulfilling prerequisites for vocational training.
🎓 Contribute to teaching and leadership, participate in education sessions, simulation training, research opportunities, and leadership development.

Annual Recruitment

✅ Hold or be eligible for general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
✅ Have completed an accredited internship or equivalent.
✅ Meet any additional requirements specified in the job description form (JDF).
