We are seeking to appoint suitably experienced and enthusiastic individuals to the position of Intensive Care Senior Registrar. This position will provide a high quality, patient centred care to intensive care inpatients and outpatients, under the supervision of the Head of Department or Duty Consultant, working within their ability and according to the hospitals mission and core values. Progression of clinical responsibility to the level of a junior Consultant, with accompanying administrative roles is expected depending on satisfactory progress. Reviews and provides advice for patients referred from the Emergency Department, hospital wards and referring hospitals. Participation in ICU teaching and education programs, quality improvement activities and handover processes are also expected. Works with the hospital(s) and health service to achieve National, State, and South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) performance standards and targets and National Safety and Quality Healthcare Standards.

The Medical Administration Trainee Registrar serves a unique position within the Child & Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) and provides valuable insight into both the framework and workings of a metropolitan teaching hospital. This position works with the CAHS Executive Director of Clinical Services & the Director, Medical Services to deliver professional leadership, support, and direction in relation to strategic and operational projects as required, with a specific focus on medical administration responsibilities. This role would continue in or progress towards a supervised training program in medical administration as a trainee with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA).

The successful applicant will work as a public health registrar in the Boorloo (Perth) Public Health Unit (Boorloo PHU). Under the supervision of the public health physician, and within a multi-disciplinary team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop competencies, skills and knowledge relevant to the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM) advanced training in public health medicine.
