Salary: MP Year 1-9 $336,466 - $427,886 p.a. pro rata or $644.98 - $820.23 per session (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)

We are currently seeking Clinical Haematology Consultant Physicians to join our team at Rockingham General Hospital's Integrated Cancer Service.

This is a recruitment pool for sessional, casual, permanent full time, permanent part time, fixed term full time, and fixed term part time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

The newly established Integrated Cancer Service has intentionally and systematically built collaborative partnerships with the private sector, healthcare and government partners, non-government organisations and the local community to significantly improve care for cancer patients closer to home. For a local population with the highest cancer rates in Western Australia for certain cancers, these changes are lifesaving. The development of the service has included integrating external providers, establishing specific allied health clinics, developing a unique multidisciplinary team approach with a dedicated online platform to assist in the management of complex patients. This approach has led to safer and more timely access to services for local patients, leading to an increase in activity and a reduction in wait times. Patients are cared for in an individualised and holistic manner, considering lifestyle and stress factors in addition to their diagnosis, with partner organisations proactively involved in providing seamless cancer services.

As a Clinical Haematology Consultant Physician you will:

  • Lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist clinical haematology services to patients
  • Promote patient safety and quality of care
  • Provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers
  • In collaboration with the Head of Department and other Consultants, work to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets
  • Work within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

See attached Job Description Form for details and selection criteria.
