This is a recruitment pool to fill Permanent Full time, or Fixed Term Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight.*

*Fixed term appointments are subject to extension(s) and/or permanency.

Remuneration package Year 1 – 3 $504,609 - $552,351 per annum*

*(Salary as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2022: Salary is inclusive of base salary, 11.5% superannuation, PD allowance and 39.5% hospital based on call allowance). Renumeration is subject to the assessment of clinical skills and years of practice.

About the role and department

  • Sees over 9848 ED presentations, 3282 inpatient visits, and 7818 outpatient visits per year.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team environment with a combination of procedural and non-procedural District Medical Officers that are ACRRM or RACGP trained, Senior Medical Practitioners as well as Nurse Practitioners
  • Collaborative, friendly, and approachable team with wealth of experience in various prior roles worldwide

Successful candidate will have:

  • AHPRA registration without limitations and fellowship of (ACRRM) or (RACGP)*
  • Post graduate qualification in Anaesthetics (JCCA) and equivalent extensive experience.
  • Undertake clinical duties in the Emergency Department and/or GP clinics at each hospital as well, as being rostered on call as required.
  • Demonstration and record of appropriate Emergency Department skill maintenance in the last triennium of completion of at least 1 of the following and evidence of continued professional development:
    • ACLS (or equivalent)
    • APLS (or equivalent)
    • EMST (or equivalent)
    • GCCA (or equivalent)

*Applicants who are in their penultimate year of either RACGP or ACRRM training are encouraged to apply if their examination requirements have been passed and met.

 

Karratha Health Campus

The $173 million Karratha Health Campus is the biggest investment in a public hospital ever undertaken in regional WA. It has an expanded emergency department, a new CT scanner, a brand-new surgical centre, new delivery suites and maternity wing, world-class Telehealth services, new and expanded outpatients and essential services such as child health and medical imaging, all under one roof bringing care closer to Home for the local community.
