Child and Adolescent Health Service 2025 General Paediatric Pool Intake

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 6 - 24 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Part-Time employment is generally offered at 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) employment (average of 20 hours per week). Part-Time employment through job-share arrangements. 

Please note this pool is for appointments primarily commencing in 2025.

Appointments should generally commence from 3rd February 2025 (beginning of Term 1) or 4th August 2025 (beginning of Term 3) other start dates can be negotiated upon request.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/12/2025.

Selection to the pool is not an Offer of Employment.


Position Profile: 
We are seeking to appoint suitably experienced registrar(s) to fill multiple positions including but not exclusive to the following: Adolescent Medicine, Emergency, Oncology, Neurosurgery/Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Rural Paediatrics, Rheumatology, Neonates, Cardiology and General Paediatrics Medicine, Diabetes/Endocrine, Renal, Immunology, Respiratory Medicine, Genetics, Psychological Medicine, Child Protection Unit, Child Development Service, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease and Refugee Health. These posts are accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Part Time Employment: There are a very limited number of Part Time positions available. Part Time employment is available primarily through arrangements. Part Time employees will be rostered across 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Please note Part Time employment may not be available.

Part Time employees will primarily be allocated in 6-month rotations while Full Time employees will be allocated terms on a quarterly basis.

Area Profile:
Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH)
is a new purpose built 298 bed specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre providing outstanding inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory medical care to children and adolescents up to 16 years of age. Located on the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre site in Nedlands, Perth, the hospital became fully operational in June 2018 and features world class facilities specifically designed around the needs of children, adolescents, families and carers of Western Australia.

With state-of-the-art technology PCH offers an extensive range of specialist paediatric medical and surgical services supported by our 2,500 strong workforce of doctors, nurses, allied health and health science, diagnostics and medical imaging technologists, support services and research and training areas. PCH is the only dedicated tertiary paediatric hospital in Western Australia and operates under the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) providing services throughout the community within Perth metropolitan area; specialized state-wide services; as well as providing support to other hospitals and health services across the state.

Selection Criteria: A key component of the application is to provide a statement addressing the ‘Selection Criteria’. Do not sign and submit the JDF as your response as this does not fulfil the requirements of addressing the Application Selection Criteria. The application selection criteria are listed on page 5 of the JDF and include both Essential selection criteria and Desirable selection criteria.

Your application will be assessed in stages. In the first stage, applicants will be assessed against essential criteria 1 and essential criteria 2. Those deemed suitable to both essential criteria 1 and essential 2 will move to the next stage and have their application assessed against the remaining criteria.
