Opportunity
The South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) provides hospital and community-based public health services to nearly a quarter of WA’s population as well as supporting WA Country Health Service patients from the Great Southern, Southern Wheatbelt and Goldfields regions. Our hospital network provides services that include the renowned adult burns service, emergency care and heart, lung and renal transplants.
The Department of Anaesthesia, Pain and Perioperative Medicine invites applications for our general fellowship positions, commencing in August 2025. Our Senior Registrars and Fellows are responsible for the anaesthetic management and perioperative care of patients undergoing surgical and other procedures at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals in daytime hours. Approximately 1 in 5 shifts are out of hours in a combination of weekend, evening and night shifts. In addition, our Senior Registrars and Fellows supervise our Junior Registrar cohort under the direction of a nominated Consultant Anaesthetist.
Our general fellowships are available at either 6 or 12 month duration during which there is scope for requesting lists in areas of interest. We also offer part time general fellowships.

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/01/2025.
