This is a Fixed Term – Sessional appointment at 8 sessions per fortnight (0.4 FTE) commencing ASAP. This appointment is to cover a temporary reduction in FTE for the substantive occupant until the 13th May 2025, with the possibility of extension.
About the role:
In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to provide medical oncology services, ensuring personalised, safe, and timely care while actively addressing clinical risks and delays. You will promote a culture of commitment, accountability, respect, and excellence, and provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners, and other health workers. Collaborating with other doctors, you will work to achieve national, state, and WA Country Health Service (WACHS) performance standards and targets, within the scope of clinical practice as defined by the WACHS Medical Credentialing Committee.
About the Directorate:
The Western Wheatbelt Region is a progressive health service that forms part of WACHS. Our region features a network of communities with Northam at its heart, including districts such as Beverly, Dalwallinu, Goomalling, Moora, Wongan Hills, and York. We provide a multi-purpose model offering comprehensive health services to our communities.
In the coastal towns of the Western District, WACHS predominantly delivers nurse-led Emergency Department services, the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), and a variety of Allied Health Outpatient services through the Western Population Health Team.
The CHSP extends its range of home support services across a wide area, from Badgingarra to Cervantes and up to Jurien Bay. The Health Centre in Jurien Bay offers a 24/7 nurse-led emergency service, supported by Emergency Telehealth doctors. Additionally, Silver Chain operates a nurse-led emergency department in Lancelin.
