Fixed Term full time and part time appointment for 6 and 12 months commencing in February 2026, with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.  Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/10/2025.

 

POSITION PROFILE

The positions are accredited for up to 12 months of Advanced Training in General Paediatrics, although applications for 6 months will be considered if necessary. We are seeking enthusiastic registrars to join our teams in all our hospital sites.

The hospitals sites included within the recruitment process are: 

  • Albany
  • Broome (STP funded position)
  • Bunbury (STP funded position)
  • Geraldton (STP funded position)
  • Karratha
  • Port Hedland (STP funded position)

There is a strong team of resident consultant paediatricians providing close supervision and support in each of our hospitals while also giving opportunities for independent practice.

Candidates for positions which are funded through the Australian Government Specialist Training Program (STP) must be in Years 1, 2 or 3 of their Advanced Training.  They cannot complete their training until the end of the STP funded position.

SALARY

South of the 26th parallel – Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie

Registrar Year 1-7 $146,579 to $195,662 p.a.*
*includes base salary $120,492 to $164,513 pa, professional development allowance $10,969 pa and 11.5% employer contributed superannuation. Rates as 3 September 2024.

Senior Registrar Year 1-2, $214,484 to $224,214 p.a.*
*includes base salary $176,691 to $185,418 pa, professional development allowance $15,671 pa and 11.5% employer contributed superannuation. Rates as 3 September 2024.

North of the 26th parallel – Karratha, Port Hedland, Broome

Registrar Year 1-3, $171,015 to $187,042 pa*
* includes base salary $142,408 to $156,782 pa, professional Development allowance $10,969 pa and 11.5% employer contributed Superannuation.  Rates as 3 September 2024.

Health Service Medical Practitioner Years 1-6, $350,115 to $442,065 pa*
* includes base salary $218,634 to $282,953 pa, professional Development allowance $33,442 pa, on-call allowance and 11.5% employer contributed Superannuation.  Rates as 3 September 2024.

Appointment will be made based on assessment of recent skills and experience.
