Adolescent Medicine Advanced Trainee, Ambulatory Care (HITH) Advanced Trainee, Chief Registrar, Child Protection Advanced Trainee, General Paediatric Advanced Trainee, Koorliny Moort Advanced Trainee, Medical Education Registrar, and Medical Education Simulation Registrar

This is a Recruitment Pool for various postions for Fixed Term Full-Time and Fixed Term Part-Time (hours may be negotiable – minimum hours required to work may vary per position)

This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) in one of our Paediatric Advanced Trainee Positions. This centralised recruitment process allows applicants to submit ONE application to be considered for up to EIGHT different Paediatric Advanced Trainee positions. Please ensure you read and follow the application instructions outlined as you will need to preference the positions you wish to be considered for and will only be considered for positions that you preference.

12 month appointments from this process will primarily commence in February 2026 and 6 month Appointments will commence in February 2026 and August 2026.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 28/11/2025.

Contracts of up to 12 months may be offered with the possibility of extension(s), at the discretion of the participating department.


Position Profiles:
This recruitment process is for a number of Paediatric Advanced Trainee positions. The roles are suitable for experienced Paediatric Trainees looking to further their leadership, skills and experience in these speciality areas. Applicants for these positions will be able to indicate their preferred positions to be considered for.

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - Adolescent Medicine
The Advanced Trainee will Manage Adolescent, Young Adult Medicine inpatients and outpatients and will participate in the Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Training Program

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - Ambulatory Care
HITH (Hospital in the Home) acts as a virtual inpatient ward admitting patients from a large number of specialities including direct admissions from ED and outpatients. The role of the Advanced Trainee requires the clinical maturity to visit patients in their homes, excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise clinical duties to effectively and safely manage HITH patients both in and out of hospital on a day to day basis. The role requires the registrar to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and to provide support to nursing and allied health staff in delivering direct clinical care. In addition to the broad clinical experience, this position provides opportunities in teaching, research, and quality improvement.

Chief Registrar
The Advanced Trainee will be required to provide guidance, advocacy and educational support to junior medical staff.  They will also provide clinical care in a clinical area of their choice. This position is 0.5 FTE junior doctor advocacy, education and administrative duties within the Department of Post Graduate Medical Education and 0.5 FTE clinical work in a chosen specialty.

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - Child Protection
The Advanced Trainee will work within the area of child protection in both a clinical and research environment along with Child Protection Unit (CPU) Social Workers and CPU Consultants at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - General (AT)
The Advanced Trainee will be required to take on a leadership role within the Department of General Paediatrics (DGP) in particular with the junior medical officers within the DGP team. They will work under the supervision of the leadership team and assist with the improvement and development of teaching opportunities, be involved in supervision, mentoring, rostering and research, as well as undertaking clinical duties that reflect their advanced training.

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - Koorliny Moort
The Advanced Trainee will provide a paediatric clinical service to Aboriginal children of CAHS (PCH and CACH) under the supervision of consultant Paediatricians. The Advanced Trainee will assist in developing the research and public health components of the CAHS Aboriginal child health program.

Registrar - Trainee - Medical Education
The Advanced Trainee will work within the Department of Post Graduate Medical Education (PGME), with key responsibilities of providing clinical teaching and direct educational support to Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) at PCH. The trainee will develop, implement and evaluate education programs both within PCH and the wider community and providing leadership in promoting CAHS values.

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - Medical Education Simulation **
The Medical Education Simulation registrar will work with the simulation team (Education Consultants, High Fidelity Simulation Co-ordinator and simulation administration assistant) to design, deliver, debrief and evaluate a range of simulation activities at CAHS, with the view to improve the quality of care to children and families.

**Applicants are advised this position is externally funded and the there are some additional duties and obligations related to this that will need to be fulfilled in alignment with the funding agreement and these will be discussed further with candidates shortlisted for interview.

Eligibility to Apply: 
To be considered for these positions you must be eligible for registration by the medical board of Australia and must have completed at least 12 months full-time equivalent of Paediatric Advanced Training with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or overseas equivalent, by the time of appointment in February 2026.
