2026 Clinical Leadership Program

The Institute for Health Leadership is seeking applications for the 2026 Clinical Leadership Program.

About the Program:

Are you a clinician looking to grow your leadership capability and drive meaningful change in healthcare? Whether you're in your first formal leadership role or simply ready to step into one, the Clinical Leadership Program offers a unique opportunity to develop the skills, confidence, and mindset to lead with impact.

Delivered by the Institute for Health Leadership, this program supports emerging leaders across WA Health to build courageous, values-based leadership. Through a series of interactive learning sessions and dedicated coaching, participants will explore how to lead self, lead others, and shape systems.

The program is targeted towards staff who meet the following eligibility criteria:

• 24 months minimum post-graduate clinical experience in the public health system as a nurse, midwife, resident medical officer (RMO PGY2+), registrar, allied health professional, Aboriginal Health Practitioner or dental officer by commencement of program.
• Not yet in a traditional leadership position, or in your first formal leadership position.
• Not participating in the Clinical Service Improvement Program in 2026. 
• Contracted to work clinically at a hospital site, clinic or health service in 2026 at a minimum of 0.5 FTE
• Current professional registration to practice in your clinical field.
