This is a Recruitment Pool for the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Registrar appointments in 2027 for   Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and/or Casual appointments for 6 to 36 months commencing in February and August 2027, with the possibility of extension(s). 

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/10/2026.

Locations include Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Busselton, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie Hospitals.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

South of the 26th parallel – Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Kalgoorlie, Geraldton, Northam

Registrar Year 1-7 $158,041 to $210,963 p.a.

(*includes base salary $128,760 to $175,802 pa, professional development allowance $11,721 pa and 12.5% employer contributed superannuation**)

Senior Registrar Year 1-2, $231,259 to $241,750 p.a.

(*includes base salary $188,817 to $198,142 pa, professional development allowance $16,747 pa and 12.5% employer contributed superannuation**)

 

North of the 26th parallel –  Broome

Registrar Year 1-3, $184,389 to $201,670 pa

(*includes base salary $152,180 to $167,541 pa, professional Development allowance $11,721 pa and 12.5% employer contributed Superannuation**)

Health Service Medical Practitioner Years 1-6, $377,497 to $476,639 pa

(*includes base salary $233,638 to $302,371 pa, professional Development allowance $35,737 pa, on-call allowance and 12.5% employer contributed Superannuation**)

 

* All rates are pro rata and will increment by 3% on 3 September 2026.

** Superannuation increase to 12.5% on 1 July 2026. Appointments will be made based on assessment of skills and experience.

  2. Demonstrated relevant clinical and procedural experience and/or specialty trainee registration.
  3. Demonstrated participation in quality assurance activities, continuing medical education activities to maintain and upgrade knowledge and skills.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality in healthcare through awareness of safe clinical practice within own limitations, and continuous improvement to patient outcomes.
  5. Experience of or interest in experiencing health service delivery and patient care in rural setting.
  6. Demonstrated ability to provide education, supervision, training, and support to more junior staff.
