This is a permanent part-time sessional appointment at 40 hours per fortnight.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Position Profile:  The Consultant - Physician - Endocrinology provides specialist endocrinology leadership within a multidisciplinary obstetric team to deliver high-quality, consumer-centred outpatient care for women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and other endocrine disorders in pregnancy. Promotes patient safety, quality of care and evidence-based practice across the Obstetric Endocrinology service. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Head of Department and other Consultants works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets. Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
