This pool aims to fill current vacancies for permanent or fixed term appointments.
Employment types: Full Time, Part Time, and Sessional with the possibility of extension(s).
Appointments from this pool may be made until 20/12/2027.
Consultant Year 1-9: $412,161 - $523,436 per annum, pro rata*
Sessional Year 1- 9: $790.09 - $1,003.40*
The above salary is as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024 (inclusive of base salary, PD allowance and 12% superannuation). Rates effective as of 3 Sept 2025. This is subject to the assessment of qualifications, clinical skills and years of practice.

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) delivers high-quality care across the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia through four key health campuses: Northam, Narrogin, Merredin, and Moora. These facilities provide a wide range of services including emergency care, acute and sub-acute inpatient services, maternity, allied health, Aboriginal health programs, and community health initiatives.
- Northam Health Campus: The largest hub with surgical services, maternity, various outpatient services, child health and child development services.
- Narrogin Health Campus: Modern facilities offering general medicine, maternity, mental health, child health and child development services.
- Merredin Health Campus: -Focused on aged care, mental health, child health and child development services.
- Moora Health Campus: Community-oriented care with allied health, child health and child development services.
Together, these campuses play a vital role in supporting rural communities with comprehensive health services and outreach programs.
As a Consultant Paediatrician join our dedicated team and lead paediatric services across, outpatient, and community settings with a focus on child development. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of various Allied Health Professionals to support regional families across the Wheatbelt region. - Lead paediatric child development service delivery and help shape the future of child health in the region.
- Mentor and inspire other doctors and non-specialist clinicians, building capability and confidence across the team.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and contribute to ongoing medical education.

- Actively contribute to clinical governance and policy development to strengthen paediatric healthcare across the region.

The Successful Candidates Will:
- Be eligible for or hold registration by the Medical Board of Australia in the specialty of Paediatrics and child health.
- Have substantial clinical experience in paediatric patient management with a strong focus on developmental paediatrics and child protection.
- Demonstrated effective, compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and external agencies, combined with strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
About the Pool and Appointment
This is an active recruitment pool which will be assessed on a regular basis by the panel to fill both immediate vacant positions and future vacancies. Please note that after filling the current vacancies, all suitable applicants will be placed in the pool for future appointments. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/12/2026.
