We are seeking a Consultant General Medicine Physician to join our rapidly expanding Home Hospital service.
We have 4.0 FTE vacancies available on either a permanent or fixed-term appointment. Fixed-term roles include the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
The vacancies will be based across Fiona Stanley Hospital, Rockingham Hospital and Peel Health Campus Home Hospital bases. They could be at one site or across multiple sites. On call will cover Home Hospital across SMHS.
We offer flexible working arrangements and are open to negotiating hours to suit the successful candidate(s).
This position may be filled as a single full-time role, a job share, or via multiple sessional appointments of at least 0.2 FTE (4 sessions / 16 hours per fortnight).
About the Role
- Lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist general medicine/Home Hospital services to patients
- Promote patient safety and quality of care
- Provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision, and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers
- In collaboration with the Medical Director of Community Services and other Consultants works to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets
- Work within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

The SMHS Home Hospital Service is available at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group, Peel Health Campus, and Rockingham Peel Group.
