Salary: MP Year 1-9 $352,448 - $448,210 per annum pro rata or $675.62 - $859.19 per session (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)
South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) is currently seeking highly skilled, motivated and dedicated Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons who have a special interest and training in one or more of the following sub-specialties:
- Foot and Ankle
- Primary & Revision Hip & Knee Arthroplasty
- Hand & Upper Limb
- Brachial Plexus
- Paediatrics
- Trauma & Reconstruction
- Sports Surgery
The successful applicant(s) will contribute to and assist in leading the SMHS's Orthopaedic Departments. As such, you may be required to work across multiple sites which include Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital and Rockingham General Hospital.
All departments have a strong focus on research and education whilst providing the highest possible standard of clinical care. The applicant(s) will be expected to contribute to the teaching programme of the unit, be responsible for specific research activities and take a lead role in departmental audits.
As part of an interdisciplinary team the successful applicant(s) holder will:
- lead the provision of acute orthopaedic surgery services to patients,
- promote personalised, safe and timely care,
- lead and promote the organisational culture, commitment, accountability, respect and excellence,
- actively address clinical risks and delays in patient care for individual patients,
- educate and supervise junior medical staff and other health care workers,
- work with heads of specialty and other consultants to manage unplanned and planned patient demand,
- achieve national performance outcomes and to meet the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
Successful applicant(s) will also be required to undertake clinical shifts as directed including participation on the on-call, after-hours & weekend roster.
