This is a fixed term opportunity to cover maternity leave from 3 August 2026 to 3 May 2027.

 Sessional appointment at 0.2FTE (4 sessions per fortnight*)

Sessional Year 1- 9: $790.09 - $1,003.40*

*One session is equal to 4 hours.

The above salary is as per WA Health System Medical Practitioners AMA Industrial Agreement 2024 (inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation, and PD allowance). This is subject to the assessment of clinical skills and years of practice.

About the Role

Step into a key leadership position as the Director of Paediatrics, overseeing specialised paediatric services across WACHS with a strong emphasis on developmental and medical assessment expertise. In this role, you will provide high‑level clinical leadership within the WACHS Paediatric Clinical Network, shaping models of care, guiding credentialing standards, and supporting evidence‑based practice across regional Western Australia.

Working closely with Executive Directors and clinical governance teams, you will lead system‑wide improvements in safety, quality, and clinical outcomes. You will also contribute to policy and guideline development, while championing research and education initiatives that reflect best practice in contemporary paediatrics.

If you are a senior paediatrician dedicated to advancing integrated, high‑quality care across diverse rural and remote settings, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence clinical practice and drive statewide impact.

 The Successful Candidates Will possess: 

• Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health Division).
• Extensive knowledge, clinical experience, and skills in Paediatrics and Child Health Division.
• Solid leadership skills including interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong strategic planning and policy formulation skills.
