Please note this is for the 2026 Registrar Intake.

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time appointments for 12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 03/11/2025.

Appointments for this position will not commence until 2026.


Position Profile:
As a Nuclear Medicine training registrar, you will provide diagnostic services to Nuclear Medicine and PET patients as required, including reviewing requests, protocoling studies, supervising and performing imaging and interventional procedures and their analysis, and providing high quality reports under supervision. In addition, you will also provide clinical in-patient and out-patient care of the Nuclear Medicine therapy patients, provide supervision and training for junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students, participate in after hours and weekend rosters, and participate in peer review and quality improvement activities/seminars. This position is part of the Inter-Hospital Rotating Scheme and placements are available at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical service including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is located in Murdoch, 15 kilometres south of the Perth CBD and nine kilometres east of Fremantle. Designed to meet the growing needs of communities south of Perth and across the State, the recently opened 783-bed, $2 billion public hospital features the most advanced medical equipment and technology. As the major tertiary hospital in Perth’s south metropolitan area, FSH provides a full range of medical and surgical services including the State Burns Service, the 140-bed State Rehabilitation Service, comprehensive cancer services, 30-bed purpose-built mental health unit and state-of-the-art emergency care. In addition to comprehensive clinical services, FSH offers inter-professional education and training services delivered in a purpose-built facility and supports research with the aim of enhancing and improving future health care delivery for all Western Australians.
