Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) 2027 Medical Intake

Registrar - Trainee - Paediatrics - Palliative Care

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Part Time (0.5FTE) appointments 12 months commencing in February 2027, or Fixed Term Full Time (1.0FTE) appointments for 6 months commencing in February 2027, with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 18/12/2026.


Position Profiles:
The successful Advanced Trainee will be required to work within the multidisciplinary Palliative Care and Hospice Service under the supervision of a Specialist in Paediatric Palliative Medicine. They will undertake clinical duties to support the provision of holistic care to children with life limiting conditions and their families across outpatient and inpatient settings, at Sandcastles (Boodja Mia) Children’s Hospice and also in the child’s home. They will have a key role in liaison with paediatric teams and community adult palliative care services in metro and regional areas. On call duties as directed by the Head of Department may form part of the role. Participation in departmental meetings and teaching will occur as well as opportunities for conducting research and quality improvement projects.

CAHS is made up of Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Perth Children’s Hospital.
