WA Rural Physician Training Pathway

We are pleased to announce the official launch of the WA Rural Physician Training Pathway for the 2026 intake. The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) operates as an accredited training network and benefits from a Royal Australasian College of Physicians Level 1 training time exemption for trainees on the WA Rural Physician Training Pathway.

This allows trainees to complete up to 24 months of their BPT in WACHS Level 1 accredited training settings, with supported transition into a Level 3 training setting to meet the RACP training requirements.

This new pathway offers a unique opportunity for trainees seeking a diverse clinical experience and a career in rural or regional medicine.
