This is a Fixed Term Part Time opportunity at 40 hours per fortnight for 6 or 12 months commencing on 3 August 2026, with the possibility of extension(s).

This position is based in Central Office, Perth. However, consideration may be given to applicants to be based at other WA Health sites.

POSITION PROFILE

The Medical Education Registrar role is responsible for leading, promoting and supporting the development of medical education relevant to Physician training within the WA Country Health Service and the WA Rural Physician Training Pathway (WA RPTP). This includes developing, implementing and evaluating innovative education models, programs and strategies directed towards supporting rural Physician training, in conjunction with the WA RPTP central coordinating unit and local-based Physician educators, supervisors and directors.

This position will also work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and administer the WA RPTP including supporting accreditation, training program, and reporting requirements.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must hold General Registration with the Australian Medical Board and have at least six months experience working in Australia or a Competent Authority country. Applicants must also be progressing towards attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Ā

SALARY AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Registrar Year 1-7 $158,041 to $210,963 p.a.*includes base salary $128,760 to $175,802 p.a, professional development allowance $11,721 p.a. and 12.5%** employer contributed superannuation.

* All rates increment by 3% on 3 September 2026.

** Superannuation increases to 12.5% on 1 July 2026.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
