Position Profile:

  • Leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist palliative medicine services to inpatients and outpatients referred to the consultative service.
  • Promotes patient safety and quality of care. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.
  • In collaboration with the Service Co-Director/Head of Department and other Consultants, works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets.
  • Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. As well as undertaking a criminal record screening and integrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a working with children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employment health assessment. We may ask referees to comment on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.
