This is a Recruitment Pool for 2025 Fixed Term Full Time and Part Time appointments for 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months, with the possibility of extension(s).
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 01/09/2025.
POSITION PROFILE
If you have an interest in providing anaesthetics as part of your rural or remote medical practice, then this post will provide experience and training requirements that enable the successful candidate to become accredited as Rural Generalist Anaesthetist. This post has been accredited by ANZCA to complete the AC-RGA
This role will involve working in both Busselton Health Campus, and Bunbury Health campus. Between these 2 sites the successful candidate will gain great exposure to all relevant areas of anaesthetic practice, including Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, General Surgery, and many more.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to rural or remote medicine. You will work alongside 16 Consultants and 3 Registrars and there is ample opportunity to gain good quality and quantity of anaesthetic volume of practice. To go along with this, the successful applicant needs to be well motivated, organised and adaptable to working in a flexible role.
About the Pool:
Joining the Anaesthesia Trainee pool means submitting one application to be considered for Bunbury and Busselton Hospital at WA Country Health Service (WACHS). As part of the assessment process, applicants will participate in an interview to determine their suitability to the pool. Applications will be assessed in 2-3 recruitment rounds until the advertisement closure on Monday 23rd June 2025.

The Hospital has a busy Emergency Department, an 8 bed ICU, General Surgical Unit, Orthopaedic Surgery, Urological Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Psychiatric Unit.
South West residents have a high sense of community and rate their region as a safe place to live and raise children, with excellent access to services such as health and education contributing to their positive lifestyle and general wellbeing. The city is family oriented with excellent schools and many sporting and cultural activities for children to choose from.
