About Geraldton Health Campus and Emergency Department

Geraldton Health Campus is the Regional Resource Centre for the Midwest and delivers comprehensive emergency care to Geraldton and surrounding communities. As a regional referral centre, the Emergency Department manages a broad mix of emergency, trauma and critical care presentations while supporting smaller regional hospitals through telehealth and retrieval coordination.

Recent investment in healthcare infrastructure has strengthened the campus' emergency, critical care and mental health capabilities, including a contemporary purpose-built Emergency Department, a new Intensive Care Unit, and a Mental Health Inpatient Unit. The Emergency Department features four resuscitation bays, a Fast Track and Ambulatory Care area, Short Stay Unit, low-stimulus observation facilities, and dedicated procedure and plaster rooms.

The introduction of the Intensive Care Unit has enhanced support for the management of complex and critically unwell patients and strengthened collaboration between Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Anaesthetics and inpatient services.

Our Emergency Department is supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team of FACEMs, Senior Medical Practitioners, Registrars, Resident Medical Officers, Interns, Nurse Practitioners, Allied Health and Aboriginal Liaison staff. The department is accredited for ACEM, RACGP and ACRRM training and offers opportunities in leadership, medical education, workforce development and service improvement.
