Salary: MP Year 1-9 $700.96 - $891.41 per session (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)

We are looking for a Consultant Intensivist to join our team in the Intensive Care Unit at Rockingham General Hospital.

This is a sessional appointment for 6 months, at up to 0.75 FTE (15 sessions / 60 hours per fortnight), with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.  We are open to discussing negotiable hours or other flexible arrangements.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision. These can be sessional, permanent full-time, permanent part-time, fixed-term full-time, fixed-term part-time opportunities, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

About the Role

  • Lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist intensive care services to patients
  • Promote patient safety and quality of care
  • Provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, health service medical practitioners and other health workers
  • In collaboration with the Head of Department and other Consultants, work to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets
  • Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
