Fellow - Colorectal

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 6-12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/10/2025.


Position Profile:
The Colorectal department is a busy tertiary referral unit for the management of complex colorectal conditions not managed in the secondary health care units. There will be opportunities to develop colorectal skills including laparoscopic colorectal training, colonoscopy and proctology. The unit comprises of 5 colorectal consultant surgeons, one CSSANZ fellow, this unaccredited fellow position and a training registrar, with between three and four interns. The fellow will share responsibility with the CSSANZ fellow for all ward and outpatient management of colorectal patients. They will provide supervision and teaching for the registrar, interns and medical students. There will also be private assisting the colorectal surgeons one day a week.

The colorectal fellow will be rostered to contribute to the general surgical on call after hours and weekend roster approximately 1:6 with internal cover for leave.

Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.
