Position Profile:
Welcome to Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, Western Australia. The Fellowship in Emergency Medicine is a 12-month fellowship program open to Emergency Physicians eligible for medical registration in Western Australia.
Based at Fiona Stanley Hospital, this position is for recently qualified Emergency Specialists or final year Emergency Medicine trainees who are seeking additional training and experience in high acuity emergency care.
International Medical graduates are encouraged to apply. Working visa sponsorship opportunities will be available for eligible applicants.
The Fellowship is a focused clinical experience devoted to developing acute skills in Emergency Medicine. Alongside senior clinicians, the Fellow will be responsible for leading medical teams within the ED and will be the senior medical co-ordinator in the department overnight. The fellowship aims to provide a comprehensive experience in all aspects of adult and paediatric emergency care including high acuity priority 1 presentations, emergency procedures, complex medical and transplant patients, and acute surgical patients including trauma. Fellows will also develop key leadership and management skills gaining firsthand experience in co-ordinating a large department out of hours, including staffing allocation, receiving incoming transfers, and providing advice to country services.

The fellow will also be expected to participate in weekly consultant led education sessions. There are opportunities to pursue special interests with active ultrasound, simulation, education, and toxicology units within the department. We also offer sub-speciality training in geriatric emergency medicine through our unique model of care.
