Fellow - Endocrine Surgery

This is a Recruitment Pool for Fixed Term Part Time appointments for 12 months with the possibility of extension(s).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/09/2026. 


Position Profile: 
The successful Endocrine Surgeon Fellow applicant(s) will cover the Endocrine Surgery Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) and within South Metropolitan Health Service, including lists at FSH and St John of God Murdoch (SJOG). 0.5 FTE will be devoted to FSH and the remaining 0.5 FTE is to be made up within the SJOG Murdoch private hospital.

At FSH you will be the gatekeeper for the Endocrine Surgery Waitlist, coordinate the Thyroid Cancer MDT meeting, attend Endocrine Surgery Outpatients and in collaboration with the Department of Endocrinology will contribute to Teaching, Journal club and Research.

The successful Endocrine Surgeon Fellow is responsible for admitting & managing patients for Acute General Surgery in normal hours and approximately 1 in 6 (on-call) out of hours. You will also be requested to supervise SET and Service Registrars, Resident Medical Officers and Interns under the direction of General Surgery Consultants and the rotating Surgeon of the day on the ASU.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
