Health Service Medical Practitioner Year 1-3 - $357,862 - $378,577 per annum*

(Full-Time Salary includes base salary, professional development allowance $35,737 and 12% employer contributed superannuation).

This is a straight vacancy to fill several Permanent (Sessional, Part-Time or Full Time) or Fixed Term (Sessional, Part-Time or Full Time) appointments*

About the Role

As a Health Service Medical Practitioner, you will provide patient-centred clinical care across a range of inpatient and outpatient settings and contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based healthcare services.

Working under the supervision and support of senior medical staff, you will:

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients across a broad range of acute and chronic clinical presentations.
• Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics and emergency care as required.
• Participate in a 9-person rotating shift system with no on calls and minimal overtime.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medical records.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance activities.
• Participate in teaching, mentoring and continuing professional development opportunities.
• Gain exposure to a wide variety of General Medicine, Rapid Access, Cardiology, Infectious diseases and multidisciplinary diabetes ambulatory clinics.

The position is suitable for Advanced trainees in General & Acute Medicine who are in the RACP training program. Kalgoorlie Health Campus is accredited for 3 advanced trainees in General and Acute Medicine for 18 months with the opportunity to do 6 months Acute, 6 months core General Medicine and 6 months of Infectious disease as a subspeciality of General Medicine. Also suitable for General Practitioners who hold FACRRM or FRACGP and interested to complete a year of Advanced specialist training in General and Acute Medicine.

Demonstrate substantial training and experience in General and Acute Medicine, either overseas specialist General Medicine qualifications, eligibility for RACP Advanced Training in General and Acute Medicine following completion of Basic Physician Training (BPT), or Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRRM with a commitment to pursue advanced specialist training in General Medicine.

   3. Has good communication skills and is able to demonstrate that they have worked in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

   4. Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, medical education and supervision, and the application of diversity, equal opportunity, and cultural safety principles to support safe, effective, and culturally responsive patient care in a multicultural environment.
