WA Cancer Fellowships 2026 for Medical Practitioners

Position Profile

The Department of Health WA Cancer Fellowship program provides workforce development opportunities to improve health outcomes for Western Australians affected by cancer. Medical practitioners are supported in the program to expand their experiences and skills in cancer research and specialised training that cannot be funded through usual clinical pathways.

Funding is provided through 2 streams, to conduct research (Research Stream) or to acquire new specialised skills (Training Stream) over a 12-month period.

WA Cancer Fellowship positions are being made available for the 2026 registrar year in accordance with Registrar Year 1 to Senior Registrar Year 2 rates as per the WA Health System – Medical Practitioners – AMA Industrial Agreement 2024.

Eligibility to Apply and Application Instructions:

Applicants are required to complete the WA Cancer Fellowships 2026 Application Form (Research or Training Stream) and submit via MedCareersWA. Emailed applications will not be accepted. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria as per section 2 of the WA Cancer Fellowships 2026 Guidelines for Applicants.
