This is a Recruitment Pool for the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Registrar appointments in 2026.   Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and/or Casual appointments for 6 to 36 months commencing in February and August 2026, with the possibility of extension(s). 

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/10/2025.

 

Locations include Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie Hospitals.

About the Salary:

South of the 26th parallel – Albany, Bunbury, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Northam

Registrar Year 1-7 $152,757 to $203,909 p.a. pro rata*
*includes base salary $125,010 to $170,682, professional development allowance $11,380and 12% employer contributed superannuation, pa pro rata.

Senior Registrar Year 1-2, $223,525 to $233,666 p.a. pro rata*
*includes base salary $183,317 to $192,371, professional development allowance $16,259 and 12% employer contributed superannuation, pa pro rata.

North of the 26th parallel – Broome

Registrar Year 1-3, $178,223 to $194,933 pa pro rata*
* includes base salary $147,748 to $162,661, professional Development allowance $11,380 and 12% employer contributed Superannuation, pa pro rata.

Health Service Medical Practitioner Years 1-6, $364,873 to $460,699 p.a. pro rata*
* includes base salary $226,833 to $293,564, professional Development allowance $34,696, 12% employer contributed Superannuation and on-call allowance if applicable p.a. pro rata.

Salary effective as of 03/09/2025.

Superannuation is currently 11.5% and will increase to 12% as of 1/07/2025.

Appointment will be made based on assessment of recent skills and experience.

    1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
    2. Demonstrated relevant clinical and procedural experience and/or specialty trainee registration.

    4. Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality in healthcare through awareness of safe clinical practice within own limitations, and continuous improvement to patient outcomes.
    5. Experience of or interest in experiencing health service delivery and patient care in rural setting.
    6. Demonstrated ability to provide education, supervision, training, and support to more junior staff.

3. Cover Letter (maximum of two pages) including:

  • Clearly include your desired career path and interests.
