Salary: MP Year 1-9 $365,665 - $465,018 p.a. pro rata or $700.96 - $891.41 per session (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)


Consultant Psychiatrist - Youth

A vacancy of up to 1.0 FTE is currently available on a sessional schedule. We welcome applications for both full-time or part-time arrangements. The position can be offered as a permanent appointment or a 5-year fixed-term contract with possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Join Fiona Stanley Hospital as a Consultant Psychiatrist to lead a collaborative, interdisciplinary team in delivering clinical mental health services to youth patients. The Consultant will champion a culture of commitment, accountability, respect, and excellence, while directly shaping the care outcomes for youth patients.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of personalised, safe and timely care.
  • Actively address clinical risks and delays in patient care for individual patients.
  • Educate and supervise junior medical staff and other health workers.
  • Work with the Head of Specialty and other consultants to manage both planned and unplanned patient demand, achieve national performance outcomes and meet the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards and National Standards for Mental Health Services.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.
