POSITION PROFILE

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for a motivated Medical Administration Registrar to join our team at Albany Health Campus in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The service is in an exciting period of growth and enhancement of specialist services with government commitment to significant expansion of physical capacity.

The Medical Administration Registrar will work with the experienced Director of Medical Services to provide professional leadership as well as guidance in relation to strategic and operational projects with a particular focus on clinical governance, accreditation, junior medical staff, service development and general medical administration duties.

The Medical Administration Registrar will be engaged in or progressing towards a supervised training program in medical administration as a Trainee with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA). As a participant in the RACMA training program you will be supported in developing the required skills needed to become a specialist healthcare medical administrator.

Albany hospital underwent a major redevelopment in 2013 and was transformed into the state-of-the-art Albany Health Campus. From this facility health care is delivered to more than 59,000 of the regions local residents and visitors. As the Regional Hospital, Albany Health Campus also supports the Great Southern’s smaller hospitals to provide improved clinical services to residents closer to home. The Albany Health Campus has 81overnight, 31 same day and 16 inpatient mental health beds with the latest technology and IT applications. TO BE SUCCESSFUL TO THE ROLE

  • Applicants must hold General AHPRA Registration
  • Be at least PGY4 level and must have a minimum or six months experience in Medical Administration,
  • A preference for candidates who have experience from Australia or a comparable health system.

Essential

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

2. At least PGY 4 and have a minimum of six months medical administration experience.

3. Current enrolment in the RACMA specialist training program (or a willingness to enrol if

successful applicant to the role).

4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and to communicate effectively.

5. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

6. Demonstrated self-motivation and participation in continuing medical education.

7. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of culturally appropriate care.

Desirable

1. Current knowledge and commitment to Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Occupational Safety and Health in all aspects of employment and service delivery.
