This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time, Casual and Sessional appointments with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
Position Profile: The Senior Medical Practitioner – Psychiatry manages psychiatric patients for ongoing care. The responsibilities include:
- Conducts psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to deliver evidence-based and patient-cantered care.
- Assume medico-legal responsibility for CAMHS patients under the Mental Health Act, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical obligations.
- Under the guidance of the Head of service, investigates and manages complex psychiatric presentations requiring specialised psychiatric input.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team clinical review meetings to contribute to collaborative care planning and decision making.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Liaise with GPs, hospital teams and other health and welfare agencies as appropriate.
- Participates in the after-hours duty officer roster in the provision of emergency psychiatric services.
