Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/04/2027.

Position Profile: Leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist medical services to patients. Undertakes general outpatient and procedural clinics. Promotes patient safety and quality of care. Provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Medical/Service Co-Director/Head of Department and other Consultants works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets. Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care.
